Twenty-five year publishing veteran, Anita Diggs, began her career as assistant to the CEO of New American Library (Penguin). She later worked her way up the marketing ladder before moving from Senior Publicist at Time Warner Trade Publishing (Hachette/Grand Central)  where she handled the estate of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to the editorial arena where she helped shape the careers of aspiring and experienced fiction writers.



Her extensive editorial and publicity experience became the foundation which launched her into the top echelon of the industry when she accepted the position of Senior Editor/Director of OneWorld Books (Random House) where she built a strong list of titles covering autobiography, biography, memoir, contemporary affairs pop culture and fiction.  In this position, she also managed relationships with over fifty literary agents while reviewing over 300 manuscripts and proposals per year.  She was a frequent keynote speaker and panelist at writers workshops, conferences and seminars.  


 After leaving Random House, Ms. Diggs joined Thunder's Mouth Press where she acquired, critiqued and edited biography, memoir and pop culture books for the independent publisher.  She also provided strategic direction to grow the List while also coming up with original ideas for books and finding the authors to write them.

The Shapers is a list of prominent New Yorkers who shape the national media agenda. She holds a B.A. in English and an MFA in Creative Writing from Hunter College in New York City.
